About Us

The Littleton Elks Lodge #1831 sits on US-302 in Bethlehem, NH, a short drive from Franconia Notch and the kind of small-town main street that still means something. Chartered members and visiting Elks from across the country walk through the same door, and the reviews tell the story plainly: people feel at home here fast. That is not an accident. It is the product of a lodge culture that takes the Elks' founding commitment to charity, justice, and brotherly love seriously, not just on paper but at the bar, at the fundraiser tables, and in the handshake when a road-weary member walks in from out of state.

The lodge hall doubles as one of the most affordable event venues in the Bethlehem and Littleton area, which is why local nonprofits, civic groups, and families keep coming back when they need a space that fits a real budget. The bones of the building carry decades of White Mountain community history, and the members who keep it running do so out of genuine pride in what the Elks represent, not for profit.

The lodge is honest about where it stands: it is a working fraternal hall, not a boutique event space. What it offers in return is accessibility, a loyal membership, and a staff that visiting Elks consistently describe as friendly and attentive.

What We Offer

Lodge #1831 hosts fundraisers, private parties, civic meetings, and Elks-sanctioned events throughout the year. The attached bar keeps things social, and the hall's open floor plan accommodates everything from a small committee gathering to a larger community benefit night. Rental rates are among the most reasonable you will find in Grafton County, making it a go-to for local organizations that need square footage without a catering-hall price tag.

Membership in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks opens additional doors: access to the national Elks network of over 2,000 lodges across the country, scholarship opportunities, veterans programs, and a local social calendar that keeps the lodge active across all four New Hampshire seasons. Visiting Elks traveling through the White Mountains are always welcome to stop in, show their card, and settle in at the bar like they never left home.

"This is a relatively cheap venue for fundraisers etc, but it's extremely dated, and reeks of stale cigarette smoke, making for an unpleasant experience. It needs a good cleaning, and the attached bar clearly needs better air handling"

"Thank you so much from an old lady in an RV from New Mexico who needed a place to park for the night. It was good to meet you Ruth and Perry, and I will definitely stop in again! Thank you again! Happy trails!"

"Do not go here with children. We are Elks Members and have traveled the US and been to many many lodges. This is hands down the rudest lodge we have ever been to. As soon as we entered we were looked up and down(we are overall young members- in our mid 30's) and the bartender who was working named Ruth basically told us to get out. My husband who is on our home lodge house committee tried to tell the bartender we are members and our sons are a part of the Antlers and trustees and we would like to have a drink and some popcorn and she told us our children are not allowed and was exceptionally rude."

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
